All of the mueums are including the Jackson House, Lee Chapel, the George Marshall Museum, VMI Museum and more are all open daily. Foodies can enjoy several restaurants walkable from Llewellyn. VMI Two book stores, many small shops and friendly townpeople are always favorites with our visitors. We have 2 antique malls withing 5 minutes drive from the Lodge. . Rockbridge Vineyard makes for a nice top to sip some nice Virginia wines. Hiking is one of our guests favorite pursuits this month, John has a detailed hiking book sure to put you onto a nice outdoor adventure. Guided trout fishing trips are available this month.

FINE DINING EXPERIENCE--

Lexington has several options for a nice romantic evening with a super meal. Several restaurants are walkable, the Nikkos Greek,Southern Inn, Sheridan Livery, Tuscany's Fine Italian, The Bistro , The Palms and Matsumoto Sushi Bar are a nice stroll only 10 minutes walk or 1 minute drive. Cafe Michels is only a 3 minute drive, all restaurants have nightly specials. We'll be delighted to help you reserve a dining time or answer any questions, just shoot us an e-mail, we'll help you for that special evening. We have all their current menus. A great way to finish off your day of exploring.

Step back into time as you stroll Historic Lexington, the town that ''Stonewall'' Jackson and Robert E. Lee both loved. This visit highlights the two great general’s roles in the Civil War and also gives special insight into their lives as private citizens. Package for 2 includes 2 nights lodging, afternoon refreshments, full Blue Ribbon breakfast, tour of the Stonewall Jackson House, Lexington Heritage Walking Tours, self directed tours of Lee Chapel & the VMI Museum section at the George C. Marshall Museum, and Cadet Tour of VMI where ''Stonewall'' taught for 10 years. Your host, John Roberts, was born in the Stonewall Jackson House, once the town hospital now a museum. USE THE LODGE AS YOUR HOMEBASE FOR DAY TRIPS

Wild and Wonderful Bath County is a great trip from the Lodge, work in a hike, ''take the waters'' in an old Historic Spa- tour the grand Homestead Hotel. The Greenbrier Resort in W. Va is 1 hour 15 minutes away- take a tour of the ''Bunkers'' which were built to house our leadership and preserve Democracy in in the heat of the Cold War. Historic Lewisburg is a great small town nearby to explore. Civil War buffs can enjoy Appomattox- 1 hour 20 minutes away or several battlefield sites north. The Frontier Museum and Blackfriars Theatrein Staunton are only 30 minutes away, Staunton is a fun town to stroll around in with lots of nice restaurants. The National D-Day Memorial in Bedford can make a nice day trip as well as Poplar Forest, Jefferson's summer home, a miniature Monticello.
