A B&B at Llewellyn Lodge offers the regions best advice on Outdoor activities. John a native of the area, spends all of his spare time in the outdoors. Close at hand are a diverse list of activities to enjoy including: Hiking, Canoeing, Biking, Fishing, Golfing, Horseback Riding, Tennis, Skeet, Birding, Wildlife Viewing, and Tubing.
John invites you to test yourself by trying one or several of his hikes as described in his new Top 20 Hikes & Trail Guide. The Trails are rated from easy to difficult and range from ½ mile to 10 miles. Maps and directions are provided as well as the local knowledge that John possesses. An additional benefit in planning most of the hikes is the scenic driving and wildlife viewing while reaching your destination. A sample of John's Top 20 Hikes are as follows:
A B&B at Llewellyn Lodge is located on the Trans-America Bicycle Trail and there are plenty of options for cyclists to consider. We have a guide detailing the rides ranging from 2 - 60 miles or more. Several mountain bike trips are available in the nearby state and national parks and forests. The beautiful countryside makes for some very memorable cycling.Canoeing, kayaking, and tubing are available within 4 miles. Glen Rose at James River Canoe Livery is the regional expert and offers many trips, considerate of all skill levels. John's Guided Fly-fishing Trips were featured in Southern Living magazine. There are several stocked and special regulation areas close by. The Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries lists the daily stocking schedules.
Nearby Lake Robertson is a 31 acre mountain Lake with boat rentals, bass, panfish, and a nice little trail system.Horseback riding over the various trails is available only a few miles away. Tennis is available on several courts 2 minutes away. A well equipped Fitness Center is just up the street for toning up. The Lodge offers the only package to the nearby challenging Lexington Golf Club, 1st tee is 3 minutes away.
